Celebrating 1 Year of Dr Helen Medical in Ringwood

This month, we are very proud to be celebrating the first anniversary of Dr Helen Medical in Ringwood.

Launched in July 2025 by local GPs, mums and friends Dr Helen Evans-Howells and Dr Lexi Obee-Kendall, Dr Helen Medical was created to offer accessible, compassionate and evidence-based healthcare for individuals and families across Ringwood, the New Forest, Hampshire and Dorset.

One year on, it has been wonderful to see the clinic grow into a trusted local healthcare space, supporting patients with everything from everyday GP appointments to a growing range of specialist services.

A year of growth, care and community support

When we opened Dr Helen Medical, our aim was to create a clinic where people could feel listened to, supported and empowered with clear, practical medical advice.

As busy working mums and doctors, Dr Helen and Dr Lexi understood how difficult it can be for people to access timely healthcare that fits around real life. We wanted to offer longer appointments, flexible access and a reassuring environment where patients had the time to ask questions and understand their options.

Over the past year, our team has grown significantly. We now have more than 10 GPs and consultants, supported by a further 8 members of support staff.

To meet growing demand, we have also expanded our premises and now offer 8 dedicated medical clinic rooms from our modern Ringwood location. This allows us to provide a wider range of appointments and specialist clinics under one roof.

Supporting patients through every stage of life

One of the areas we have continued to develop is our menopause and HRT support.

Some members of our team are currently working towards advanced training with the British Menopause Society, further supporting our commitment to providing informed, evidence-based care for women navigating perimenopause and menopause.

Whether someone comes to us for a same-day GP appointment, menopause support, weight management advice, paediatric care or a specialist referral, our priority is always the same: to help patients feel heard, informed and confident about their health.

Since opening, we have been incredibly grateful for the support and feedback from our patients.

Dr Helen Medical now has 5-star reviews on Google, with patients praising our caring team, longer appointments, flexible access and reassuring approach.

For us, this feedback means so much. Our goal has always been to offer healthcare that feels personal, practical and compassionate, while still being rooted in clinical expertise and evidence-based medicine.

Sharing trusted health advice locally

Over the past year, our doctors and specialists have also shared their expertise more widely through local press features and “ask the expert” columns.

Topics have included HRT, weight loss injections, gut health, hay fever, men’s health, pelvic floor health and other common health concerns affecting individuals and families locally.

We know that good healthcare is not just about what happens inside the consultation room. It is also about helping people access clear, balanced and trustworthy health information so they can make informed decisions.

Building local partnerships

We are also proud to have become more involved in the wider local community.

Over the past year, we have supported local charities and community initiatives, including the Highcliffe Christmas Tree Trail, while also developing partnerships with local businesses and wellness providers.

These include The Revolution Gym, Protea Wellness and Wimborne Wellness Centre, with further collaborations planned.

Our aim is to connect medical care with trusted local expertise across fitness, nutrition, pelvic health, lifestyle and wellbeing. Lifestyle, prevention, movement, nutrition, connection and practical support can all play an important role in helping people live well.

A growing focus on lifestyle and preventative health

Our lifestyle medicine work has also continued to develop.

Dr Selina Gray, Lifestyle Doctor at Dr Helen Medical, has represented the clinic on an international platform, appearing on BBC World Health to discuss Chinese medicine and medical myth busting.

Her contribution reflects our broader interest in lifestyle medicine, preventative health and whole-person care. We believe patients benefit from practical, evidence-based advice that looks at the whole person, not just individual symptoms.

Celebrating four years of Dr Helen Allergy

Our first anniversary also coincides with another special milestone for the wider Dr Helen brand.

Our sister clinic, Dr Helen Allergy, based next door, is celebrating its fourth anniversary this year.

Dr Helen Allergy is a nationally established specialist allergy clinic, welcoming families from across the UK for expert allergy care. The clinic has become particularly well known for supporting adults and children with complex allergy needs, offering specialist advice, diagnosis and ongoing management.

Together, Dr Helen Medical and Dr Helen Allergy now provide patients with access to a broad range of private healthcare services from one convenient Ringwood location.

We are incredibly proud to be celebrating one year of Dr Helen Medical and four years of Dr Helen Allergy.

Both clinics have grown from the same belief: that patients deserve expert, compassionate care that feels personal, accessible and practical.
